Purposeful Pages Link-Up: July

purposeful-pages-meme

Purposeful Pages is a monthly link-up designed to unite bloggers on answering questions about life, blogging, the Bible, writing, and books.

Hannah and Amanda just launched this link-up and I’m so happy to join! I’ve never done link-up before so here it goes.

What verse and chapter of the Bible inspired you the most this past month, and why?

I don’t know if anything from the Bible really inspired me in June, but looking through blog posts from that month, this verse stands out to me:

Romans 12:12

Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.

Because no matter what is going on in our lives we can keep on praying.

What’s a book (fiction or nonfiction) that you read or continued reading this past month that reminded you of an important truth?

The Way of Kings was one of the most outstanding fantasy books I have ever read. I’m still shocked from it. But it reminded me that without hope, life just isn’t worth living. It reminded me that even when you’re going through the worst of times, if there is a chance to help someone, you should help them.

A Time to Die was an amazing Christian dystopian. It reminded me that life is short, so make sure to do stuff that is worth doing. Live your life to the fullest. Don’t waste your life, your time, because time is running out.

Do you have any goals for yourself this month? If so, what are they?

I’m doing Camp NaNoWriMo this month so I have a goal to write 50,000 words(I may even have a goal in my mind for 60,000 words!) for my new dystopian novel!!! I’m terribly excited about it.

Have you discovered anything new or changed your blog around this past month?

I’ve discovered how fast my friends write in my cabin in Camp NaNoWriMo (and how slow I write).

That I love the music to the Hamilton musical. It’s addicting!  Though I was there wasn’t any language in it.

What is your favorite blog post that you wrote in June?

What’s Your Motivation to Follow Christ?

That is my favorite post, I think it was one of the better written ones and that I made a really good point in it.

Can you share one quotable thing from your novel/book (if applicable) that you recently wrote?

Here’s a quote from my new dystopian novel:

What was the purpose of this? To survive. But surviving wasn’t living and I was tired of surviving.

What biblical character would you get along with the most, and why?

I think that I’d get along with Timothy. I really admire his devotion towards caring and following Paul wherever he went.

Favorite new word unearthed from the dictionary?

Syndicate. I’m using it for my new novel.

In the blogging world, what’s one thing you have learned about yourself?

That I can help people grow in their faith and understand our God better. It has been so encouraging to see people comment on my posts and tell me how encouraging I’ve been to them. It is so uplifting to know that I can make a difference in people’s lives. It really is so easy to forget that with God nothing is impossible (and now I’m about to cry so let’s move on).

What fictional character would you spend the day with, and what would you do?

Uhhh… This is a harder question than it should be. I have so many favorite fictional characters!

But I think I’d pick Jace from the Ilyon Chronicles. If I got the chance to spend the day with him, I’d want to go hunting with him and then maybe he’d could teach me how to fight with a sword.

So…what did you think of this link-up? I hope to join in on more of these Purposeful Pages. It was really fun to do.
