Purposeful Pages Link-Up: August

Purposeful Pages is a monthly link-up designed to unite bloggers on answering questions about life, blogging, the Bible, writing, and books.

Here I am doing Hannah and Amanda‘s link-up for August. I’m so proud of them for how well it’s doing. I love this link-up! It’s unique. If you haven’t heard of it, go to one of their blogs to find out more. Then join right on in. You’ll have a blast!

What book of the Bible has taught you the most this month?

Sadly, I haven’t really read much of the Bible this month. But I have been reading a little bit of 1 John and the most prominent thing I learned was to not love the world.

1 John 2:15-16

Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.

It reminded me that the things of this earth do not last. They’re not important. Not as important as serving and glorifying God is.

How would you react if you were in the positions of either Esther, if you’re a girl, or Daniel, if you’re a guy?

I don’t think I’m the type of person who would collapse into a sobbing mess. I’d look fine on the outside, but I’d probably be really freaking out on the inside. I just hope that I’d be brave enough to do the right thing. I think that I would, but it’d take time-and a guilty conscience-to actually do something.

If you could have a book character for a sibling, who would it be, and what makes you two alike?

Kaladin, from The Stormlight Archive. We’re both have a type of leader personality, but are shy to to take that responsibility. We both aren’t that stuck up type of leader, we’re willing to get our hands dirty and so what the lowest man did.

If you’re a novelist, answer: How would your main character most likely spend his or her Friday night? If you’re not a novelist, answer: How would you most likely spend your Friday night?

Uhhh…well my boy (or I guess that you could say young man) would probably spend his friday night doing some sort of physical training or on a mission to assassinate someone.

I’ll answer the other question too. I’d spend my Friday night probably watching tv shows or a movie. And maybe also writing, blogging, and/or reading.

What are the top three books you’re just dying to read?

Ooo!!! Hard question!

Gemina (The Illuminae Files_02) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

ACK!!! I need this book now!!!

Exiles (Ilyon Chronicles: Book 4) by Jaye L. Knight

This isn’t even out yet and I can’t stand it!!! Why why why why why???!!!!!

UnWholly (Unwind Dystology: Book 2) by Neal Shusterman

I just pretty much want to read the rest of this series. The first book was so good and so thought provoking. I LOVED IT!

Steelheart (The Reckoners: Book 1) by Brandon Sanderson

I want to read this whole trilogy. I’ve heard so so so many good things about it and I can’t wait to get a chance to read it. EEK!

Okay, so I cheated a little. But can you blame me? I’m a bookworm, or better put, a bookdragon!

Can you briefly share the story behind your blog’s name?

I’ll refer you to this post: What It Means To Have “A Heart Redeemed”

What do you consider to be your blog’s “branding,” or signature? What sets your blog or social media platform apart from others?

Um, well I think that mine is a bit different because I have a unique mix of book reviews, spiritual posts, and fun stuff!

Who are a few of your favorite bloggers?

Katie @ A Writer’s Faith

Aimee @ To the Barricade!

Anna @ The Everstorm Comes

Amanda @ Scattered Journal Pages

Jonathan @ Fishing for Ideas

Well, there are lots more that I love, but I tried to give only a “few”.

If you could go on a road trip of your dreams, where would you go and who would you spend time with?

It is actually quite funny that this question was asked at this time because I have been discussing with a group of bloggers about how cool it would be if we could all go on a road trip together and go to Realm Makers (a Christian writer’s conference) next summer. So it would totally be my dream to do that, but we’ll see how things turn out.

Using five words or less, tell a story.

Loss. Broken. Vengeance. Love. Redemption.

This is the story that I hope that my WIP will tell.

Did you like this post? Are you joining this link-up? Tell my everything!
