We, are human beings. And whether we like it or not, we are afraid. We live in a world full of fear
(It’s full of other things too, but I’m talking about fear.). We may not be so afraid that we’re paranoid. But we are scared. We are frightened.Read More »

Let’s face it. Life isn’t easy. Each and every one of us go through a lot in our lives. Whether it is school, children, work, or whatever, it’s all a part of life. This world use to be perfect and sinless. That was how it was before Adam and Eve disobeyed God and brought sin into the world. Life must’ve been easy then. But let’s not dwell on the past. What’s done is done and we can’t do anything about it.
Anyways, now this is a world full of sin. It’s a fallen world. Now we face hard work, danger, pain, suffering, and death. All of these things are pretty common in this world we live in. But sometimes these things bear down on us so much that we lose sight of God. We lose sight of the big picture and can only see the struggle that we’re facing. I get it. It’s like quicksand. As soon as we step in it, we start sinking and the more we struggle the quicker we sink. We all have those moments when we are so down deep in that quicksand that we begin to have doubts. Where is God? Does He even care? Why did He let this happen? We think that maybe we’ll never get out of this sand and that we will just keep sinking. And we will. Without God we’ll always be sinking.
He replied, “What is impossible for people is possible with God.”
But with God anything is possible.
So where is God when we’re struggling? Here right there with you. He is always there with you. How? Because God is omnipresent which means he is everywhere at every time: past, present, and future all at the same time! But more importantly, as Christians, we are filled with the Holy Spirit. Isn’t that amazing?!
He cares more about you than you will ever know. He love is everlasting. God cares so much about you that He created you. He certainly didn’t have to create any of us. But He did, because He wanted to. He didn’t need to. God went farther than just creating us though. He gave a beautiful world to live in with anything and everything we could ever need. Sin degraded the beauty of the world, but Jesus has bought redemption for us and soon the world will be perfect again when Jesus comes for the second time.
Why? You still might be asking. Well, we can’t ever truly know why. We don’t know how God thinks or what He thinks. But struggles do help us grow in our faith.
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
Clearly, this shows that through struggle we develop endurance and this turn into growth in our faith. Remember that the next time you’re are going through something tough: there is always a reason for it. And always remember that God is with you.
So it’s another day for a blog post. What should I talk about today? Well…I recently read The Freedom of Self-Forgetfulness by Timothy Keller. It was a really short and easy read, but it made some great points that I’d like to maybe expand upon.
This is a shout out to all the teenagers out there: don’t let your fear control who you are or even more important, who you become. Now by saying this I’m not saying that I don’t have any fear, that I’m not afraid. That would be an absolute lie. I’m afraid, a lot.
I’m afraid of failing in my schoolwork. I’m afraid of not getting everything I need to get done to graduate from high school. I’m afraid of meeting new people (it’s not as bad as it was a few years ago). I’m afraid for my siblings and all those people I know who aren’t saved. What if they don’t accept Christ into their hearts and lives?
Everyone is afraid of something and these are just a few of mine. And you know many of these fears boil down to? Not being good enough. A fear of being average. And you know what?
We will never be good enough.
We try day after day to live up to media’s standards or social standards or our standards or whoever’s standards. We try to do this because we care about what people think of us. We want to be popular, to be liked. But we won’t ever live up to these standards or people. We can’t. Our sinful nature will always get in the way.
1 Corinthians 4:3-4
As for me, it matters very little how I might be evaluated by you or by any human authority. I don’t even trust my own judgment on this point. My conscience is clear, but that doesn’t prove I’m right. It is the Lord himself who will examine me and decide.
It doesn’t matter what people think. Their opinions do not matter. In the end, we will only be headed to Heaven or Hell. These standards are useless. All we do is full short of them (unless they’re so low as to make us feel bad about having such low standards).
The only standard and opinion that matters is God’s. And because of Christ, we are seen as blameless before Him.
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.
It doesn’t matter what we’ve done or what we will do. We’re saved forever.
So don’t let your fears control you. Don’t worry about what other people think. Don’t even worry about what you think. God’s opinion is the only opinion that matters and He has already proclaimed you His own child!
Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.
There is no need for fear. This is a time to rejoice!
Peace. Is that not what we all want? Peace from war. Peace from stress and anxiety. Not a single thing to worry about. No tragedies. No struggles. No hard times. No sadness. No sickness. No death. Well, that’s starting to sound like a utopia to me, don’t you think?
I know we can’t really stop wars, though we can be a good influence in the world and maybe it would happen less. Tragedies, slavery, starvation, natural disasters, and the like are always going to be here. We can make a difference in the world. But are any of these things ever truly going to stop? No, and that includes death. “So, are you telling us to just give up?” You might be asking. No, I am not. But I am saying some things just will never come true, at least, until Jesus returns.
Peace, inner peace, all of us can have. God, the creator of all the Heavens and the Earth, offers us peace. How do we get this peace?
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
God’s peace is beyond anything that we can even begin to comprehend. It can never be taken away from us. All we have to do is trust God with our lives, our struggles, our hopes, our dreams, and everything!
This is part of a song praising God.
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
I think this is one of the main reasons we have trouble being and staying at peace. We can’t keep our thoughts fixed on God. I know, it is hard. We get so caught up in our lives at times. Our worries and everything else get in the way what we should be spending time on.
Another reason could be fear. We want control over our own lives. If you pay attention to what the world is doing today, it seems we want control of everything. The desire for control, power is one of our greatest downfalls.
Now we need to let go. We have to have faith. Jesus has given us that chance for peace.
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.
Because of what Jesus did on earth, when we have faith and trust in him our sins are wiped clean. We become righteous to God! That, is why we owe him everything, especially our lives. So we should be full of joy to be able to glorify Him through everything we do.
I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
This peace is such precious gift (See what I did there?). Money and other material stuff can not bring you peace, only God can. God is the only one who can give you everlasting peace. No thing, no one, can do that.
We may not know where we are going or what is going to happen to us, but God does. We can rely on Him to lead us down the right path. He is good, and can’t do anything wrong or He wouldn’t be God.
So lets trust Him and receive that peace. Alright? It is such a relief to know that your life is not in your hands and in the much more capable hands of God.
In closing, here is one more verse. I wish it for all of you.
2 Thessalonians 3:16
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.
