AH! I apologize for this post being so late. It has been insanely busy. So when I finally have a little bit of a break, I watch some tv or read a little. And I’ve just had no motivation to write.Read More »

God, our Friend

god-our-friendFriendship. We were made for friendship. “Why would you think that?” you may be thinking. Well, when Adam was lonely, God made Eve. That wasn’t because Adam was imperfect. At that time, the world was perfect. Nothing was imperfect. So God made Eve for a different reason, and that was friendship. Adam was made for friendship. He needed it. And so are we. We are made for friendship.Read More »

It’s My One-Year Blogiversary!!!

It's MyBlogiversary! So I realized yesterday morning that it was my one-year blogiversary!!!

I had already had a post published for that day and I was too great of a procrastinator to scramble and write another. Life got in the way, you know. 😉 So I guess that today is really my one-year-and-one-day blogiversary. But we’ll just celebrate my blog reaching a year, okay?

To think that it was only a year (and one day) ago that I was at Amanda’s house and she was helping me set up my blog. It feels so long ago.

I have changed a lot since then.

I’ve liked writing more and more as I’ve blogged. I did NaNoWriMo for the first time mainly because of seeing all these bloggers do it. I ended up winning though I started SIX days late!

Then I tried Camp NaNoWriMo (for the first time) in April and I’m doing it this month! It is so fun and I’ve met so many great people! I hope to keep doing this for a long time.

So some fun things that have happened this past year (and in no particular order)…

  • Moving to Puerto Rico.
  • Getting more and more followers.
  • Getting all the sweet and encouraging comments.
  • Then getting those fangirl comments…they’re awesome.
  • Finding some great blogs!
  • Doing NaNoWriMo and winning!
  • Getting a Twitter account.
  • Buying books.
  • Doing Camp NaNoWriMo!
  • Making some great blogging friends.

Blogging friends I’ve made this past year…

From starting my blog, I’ve made so many blogging friends and found just some amazing blogs (Click on the link to see their blogs!)! Here’s to naming a few…

  • Shantelle – I have loved all our chats! You’re really an amazing person!
  • Katie – You are so fun! I love all our fangirl talks!
  • Aimee – You’re awesome. Your novel tore my heart out. And you have reawakened my love of Daredevil.
  • Anna – I love your blog and I need to read more of it. It seems we have a lot in common.
  • Jonathan – Your blog is awesome! I love your humor. And I love getting all your comments, they’re are just great.
  • Zac – I love your blog (You must blog more!) and you’re crazy Tweeting. It’s spectacular!
  • Wendy – You have made me laugh too many times to count. I can’t wait to read more on your blog!
  • Hannah – You are just so fantastic to talk too! I can’t wait to check out your blog more!

Some questions…

So I’m thinking of doing blog posts on random Saturdays about movies, tv shows, books, writing, maybe guest posts, etc. What would you think about that? Should I do it? Should I not? Do you have any other ideas? I would love to hear what you think!

Thank you!!!

Since I have started my blog, I have gotten 114 followers! More followers than I ever thought I’d get. Thanks you guys! This blog wouldn’t be here without you readers! You guys have made it so worth it!

It late and I’m signing off. Goodnight!

Monthly High Points: April

MonthlyWriting!!!

I finally, finally got to some writing this month! *runs around screaming with happiness* Camp NaNoWriMo was absolutely great. Thank you, Nadine Brandes, for letting me join your cabin! That word war we did together was amazing. I hope that we can do more together soon.

I got to about 30,070 words. It is not as big a number as some people did, but I’m proud of it. Now my novel that I started in November is about 80,320 words long. I did not even know that I could write something this long and it’s not even done yet. I’m hoping that I’ll finish it around 100,000 words. Then on to editing!

Reading…

I have to say…I read some amazing books this past month.

  1. Siren’s Song (The Storm Siren Trilogy: Book 3) by Mary Weber
  2. Glass Sword (Red Queen: Book 2) by Victoria Aveyard
  3. Samara’s Peril (Ilyon Chronicles: Book 3) by Jaye L. Knight
  4. The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus: Book 1) by Rick Riordan
  5. The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
  6. Steel Scars (Red Queen: 0.2) by Victoria Aveyard
  7. Veiled Rose (Tales of Goldstone Wood: Book 2) by Anne Elisabeth Stengl
  8. Alone by Edgar Allan Poe
  9. Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe
  10. The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe
  11. The Bells by Edgar Allan Poe

Siren’s Song: Woah… This was so good. What a ending.

Glass Sword: This was intense. These characters will all DIE! I’m sure of it.

Samara’s Peril: I’m so glad that I got to read this early. But now I get to wait extra long for the next one. This is one of my favorite series EVER! The characters will make me go insane. Or, at least, make me sound like I’m insane.

The Lost Hero: It’s great to again enter one of Rick Riordan’s worlds. The humor was awesome. But, this is still not as good as Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

The Scorpio Races: OH. MY. WORD. This was so good. I loved this so much. It was gorgeous. It was beautiful. I’m in love.

Steel Scars: Shade! I just need a book on Shade now (thank you very much).

Veiled Rose: This took a long time to get into, but the ending so made up for it.

As you can see, the rest of the stuff I read was poetry by Edgar Allan Poe. I love his crazy and weird stuff. It is like the only horror that I read.

I’m currently reading…

  • One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp
  • The Scarlet Pimpernel (The Scarlet Pimpernel: Book 1) by Emmuska Orczy

I am also reading the Bible book Ephesians.

One Thousand Gifts: I read nothing of this, this month.

The Scarlet Pimpernel: This is a little slow, but very good. This will probably be one of my favorite classics.

Music!

You. Must. Listen. To. Twenty. One. Pilots. I’m still addicted to it… But I have been a bit into George Gershwin and Louis Armstrong. I love that feel that this type of old music gives you.

Other Things!

Having Amanda and her family over was so great! We did so many awesome thin together (like going to this rainforest called El Yunque). I was such a sobbing mess when they left. But I hope we can see each other soon.

I started watching Firefly. It’s pretty unique. It’s kind of a mix of Han Solo type adventures, country, and futuristic stuff (spaceships, technology, etc.).

On April 29th, I started on the show LOST… I’m already addicted. It has a good bit of scariness to it that it kind of refreshing in a way.

I’m patiently (Actually no, I’m kind of freaking out!) waiting to see Captain America: The Civil War. Go Captain America! Protect Bucky!

By the way, you see that photo up there? That’s what I’ve been feeling like I’ve been doing all month: running like crazy.

Also, May the fourth be with you!

To Christian Teens: The Importance of Friendship

Blogging ImageThis subject has been in my mind a lot the past week or so because my close friend Amanda and her family came to Puerto Rico for a visit. I hadn’t seen her in over half a year. That’s what happens when my dad’s job moves us around a lot. In May it will be two years since I met her. Let it suffice to say that we became very close friends very fast. Anyways, she came and it was one of the best weeks I’ve had since moving here. It felt as if Amanda had never left, or maybe more like I had never left her. But she and her family had to leave and go home just a couple of days ago. It was really hard seeing her leave, but I’m so glad she came.Read More »

MonthlyWriting!

Well, I didn’t do any writing this month, but I joined Camp National Novel Writing Month. So this April I’m setting a goal of writing 30,000 words. Wish me luck!

Anyone else doing Camp NaNoWriMo this April?

Reading!!!

I just love books. Don’t you? 😉

  1. Winter (The Lunar Chronicles: Book 4) by Marissa Meyer
  2. The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle: Book 1) by Maggie Stiefvater
  3. Dreamlander by K.M. Weiland
  4. The Dream Thieves (The Raven Cycle: Book 2) by Maggie Stiefvater
  5. The Giver (The Giver Quartet: Book 1) by Lois Lowry
  6. Jackaby (A Jackaby Novel: Book 1) by William Ritter
  7. The Throne of Fire (The Kane Chronicles: Book 2) by Rick Riordan
  8. The Serpent’s Shadow (The Kane Chronicles: Book 3) by Rick Riordan
  9. Blue Lily, Lily Blue (The Raven Cycle: Book 3) by Maggie Stiefvater
  10. Queen Song (Red Queen: Book 0.1) by Victoria Aveyard

I also read the Bible books Titus and Philippians.

Winter: Ahh… I loved this book! It was a great conclusion, but I want more Cinder and Kai!

The Raven Boys: These characters sell the book. I loved it except for the fact that there was a lot of bad language.

Dreamlander: Beautiful. I mean absolutely beautiful. A really good mix of fantasy and contemporary. So intense and exciting. It had such a sad (but good) ending.

The Dream Thieves: I couldn’t figure out the plot to this one, but I still loved it. My precious characters. *hides them and keeps them safe from harm*

The Giver: This was a reread for school, but I’m glad I read it again. It’s still as good as the first time.

Jackaby: So strange…and weird. But it was great and quite different from what I’ve been reading.

The Throne of Fire: I read the first one in this trilogy awhile ago, but it was so good to read a Rick Riordan again.

The Serpent’s Shadow: A pretty good closing to the series, but quite strange with Sadie and her two boyfriends.

Blue Lily, Lily Blue: I understood this one better than the last one. Oh, how how how is this series going to end???

Queen Song: Very good to learn a bit about Queen Coriane, but it was also very sad. Poor Coriane…

Right now I am currently reading:

  • One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp
  • Siren’s Song (The Storm Siren Trilogy: Book 3) by Mary Weber

I’m also reading the Bible book James.

One Thousand Gifts: I only read about ten pages this month, but it is really good.

Siren’s Song: Oh my goodness! It is the last book of an amazing trilogy! Help me!!!

Music!

So…I’m still mostly listening to Twenty One Pilots. I’m pretty sure that I know almost all the lyrics to all the songs.

Right now I have Mad World by Gary Jules stuck in my head. All because I had to look it up and play it on Spotify after I heard it on American Idol. The man has a very interesting voice.

What have you been listening to? Any artist that you totally love?!

Other Things!!!

Having my amazing friend and her family over for about a whole week is absolutely amazing! I haven’t seen her in over half a year. She is a very close friend and I’ll miss her when she leaves. 😦

What are you up to? Please comment! I’d loved to hear from you.
